At one point he played at the Beijing International Jazz Festival and even performed a few times with Chinese rock legend Cui Jian. Since then, Kane has moved back to New York and has built a decent recording studio. He also frequently plays plays gigs with the Cajun band The Doc Marshalls. His own project, Mat Kane and the Trophy Wives, is three years in the making and will seemingly never get off the ground. Richard works for CompTutor - a computer training firm in New York’s capital district - where he plays with PCs and teaches classes at the local community college. When he’s not working or talking about himself in the third person, Richard spends lots of time driving aimlessly around the northeastern United States, visiting friends and family along the way, playing bass in a rock ‘n’ roll band you’ve never heard, and occasionally eating bagels.
